When you're The One, even the drunken spectators become quiet when you pick up your bowling ball.

Problems with the police are common when the crime victim points at you and says: "isn't he the One?" and then you are arrested.

Isn't that better than when someone points to your corpse and asks "wasn't he the one?"

On old typewriters, there was no 1. The lower case L was used as the one.

No U.S. football team has ever finished a game with exactly 1 point on the scoreboard. The only way you could conceivably do that would be to block an opponent’s extra point and run it back the length of the field but goof up at the last moment and cause a safety, for which you get one point instead of two. So you could lose a game by a 6-1 score.

However, in Canadian football, it’s relatively common, because a team can score one point on a kick into the end zone that isn’treturned. So, you could lose 32-1 or something like that.

I think that if you held down the shift key* while typing, you could overstrike that space without backing up.
No way to check it now!

*Or maybe it was BACKSPACE that you held down. Doesn't matter any more.

I wonder if writers used fewer exclamation marks when it wasn't so easy to make one?
