    Future apparitions of Comet Halley

I believe there are three apparitions of Comet Halley: The Apparition of Comets Past, The Apparition of Comets Present, and The Apparition of Comets Yet to Be.

Maybe not a poetry collection, but wasn't it a 10,000 Maniacs song?

    Moving question for BigDon

I thought that it would be something philosophical and emotionally powerful, about life and the universe.

But it wasn't moving at all: it was about ... moving.

An e-mail subject line in my Inbox today:

"Tell the USDA to reject genetically engineered platypus!"

    Whaaaaaaaat?

Oh, "genetically engineered eucalyptus". Still not going to sign a petition against a plant just because it's genetically-engineered, as I don't consider that inherently a bad thing, but at least I know they were protesting about a plant and not an animal.

Well the platypus certainly looks like the result of someone who got reckless with a glove-box and CRISPR tech

But if that's what average platypi look like, what would a genetically-engineered one be? A normal-looking animal?

Would the genetic engineering program autocorrect it to a duck, or a beaver, or a chicken, or ... ?

Asteroid Psychic. As Jim already said somewhere, we get quite a lot of psychics spam.

ETA: not even 10 minutes later I misread it as Astrid Psychic...

In "Proxima bound after all!", my first thought was it was sort of like homeward bound, and someone was going to Proxima Centauri.

    Replacing the Internet?

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Internet is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.
