Kind of up to my devices today.
Torn about making some ribs, my sore throat just wants some ice cream.

My wife wasn't hungry last night so I was on my own. I wound up tossing a tortilla on the griddle, smearing some marinara on it, and adding shredded parmesan and salami. Pizza! Actually wasn't bad, I'll probably do it again.

Something must be faulty in my genes because when I enter the realm of ingredients and utensils, of flavors and textures, of aroma and creation, all I can do stack this on that and hope it will fuel the body for a day. I truly envy kitchen artists who love sharing their works with others.

Just another day of oranges, noodles, and a little ice cream. The ribs will be put off for another day.

Balsamic Taco. Tortilla with a little lettuce, some chicken chunks, a sprinkling of Parmesan, and balsamic vinegar. Not bad!

It's 4:00 am watching cheesy sci-fi movies on Turner Classics and eating chocolate donuts and fresh French press coffee. Life is good.

We are recently back from a week in Kuala Lumpur. Our Daughter -in Law and her local family took us to a Macanese Restaurant (Macau inspired). The food is a mixture of Chinese Style food combined with Portuguese influences. One of the most colourful - and tasty dishes - was their version of Apricot Chicken.

On Sunday my wife hosted a meetup with her cousins, some very distant, one born in Singapore, like her, and the other three from the Malaysian State of Sabah (part of Borneo). All of them have lived in Australia for at least 30 years.

We each provided some food for lunch and had :-

    Beef Curry Puffs
Beef Rendang - a "dry" spicy meat dish, heavy on coconut milk & toasted dried coconut.
Char Siu Chicken - diced chicken in Char Siu Sauce (Red sauce mixture with honey, soy sauce, Hoisin sauce, spices etc)
Bak kut teh - meaty pork ribs simmered in a broth of herbs and spices
Chicken Biryani - chicken and rice dish all cooked in one pot with spices
Gado Gado - an Indonesian salad of slightly boiled, blanched or steamed vegetables, fruits, prawn crackers, hard-boiled eggs, fried tofu etc etc - served with a peanut sauce dressing.
    Served with steamed Basmati Rice

Lovely, and some leftovers for tonight.

Not eating it yet but I finally gave into temptation and hit the antipasto bar at the supermarket. Olives, sundried tomatoes, feta cubes, artichoke, garlic, and a couple of things I'm not sure what they are. I'm going to add in some cheese tortelini, salami, and pepperoncini and mix up a big salad. I'll probably add some balsamic but no oil because some of the ingredients were in it to start with.

ETA: Got it mixed up and marinating. I did add oil because it needed more. Next time I may -- or may not -- cook the pasta. We tried it and it wasn't too bad.

ETAA: Looks too good not to share. I'm heating some crusty garlic bread to go with it. Along with a glass of red.

My wife approved of the antipasto salad so we'll be doing it again one of these days. She requested more meat, so I'll add more to this one. Less pasta next time, I think.
