Last night when I parked the car at the bowling alley, Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult was just finishing on the radio. I had that running through my head for the entire evening. At some point, I sang a little bit of it and also infected my teammate.

"Got Getting Up So Down" by They Might Be Giants. The original version was used as a Dunkin' Donuts jingle several years ago. They released an extended version that is on the "Phone Power" album from 2 years ago. It becomes an earworm every single time I hear it (like yesterday).

And now we've moved on to Rockin Around the Christmas Tree.

    *sigh*

I guess I can blame Home Alone for this one, which was on TV earlier in the week.

Crash Test Dummies - "Superman's Song".

Why? Why? Why? I haven't heard it for ages, but for some reason today I have got Brad Roberts' dolorous vocals going round in my head.

So do I, but it's driving me slightly nuts at the moment!

Thing is - I haven't heard it for ages. I don't know what has suddenly triggered this.

For some reason I've had the theme from "Young Sheldon" stuck in my head about a week.

Now I have the TMBG version of New York City in my head (yes, I did see a TMBG show last week, but still). I guess it could be worse, I could have the cub (band) version in my head instead. I've never been to NYC (except to pass through, once, on the way to New England during grad school).

"'Cause everyone's your friend, in New York City
    And everything looks beautiful
    When you're young and pretty

The streets are paved with diamonds
And there's just so much to see

But the best thing about New York City is
    You and me."

    Running Free, by Iron Maiden.

Paul Di'Anno's voice gets to me after a while - even just in my head.

"The Sore Feet Song" by Ally Kerr. But it's my own fault. I hadn't heard it in a while (it is the theme song for season one of Mushishi, one of my favorite anime). Now I can't stop singing it in my head. Ally Kerr is pretty awesome, though. I normally don't go for mellow, but his dreamy voice and sometimes offbeat lyrics have me hooked.

Except now I can't stop hearing The Sore Feet Song.

Most of the songs that stick are actually re-sticks. I haven't heard them in a while, then back they come.

I heard Del Shannon's Runaway recently and it's messaging my mind here and there. This song sticks a little tighter because it's a guitar song that I can play, and it's fun to do so because of the easy fingering within the chord, unlike most.

White Room (Cream) is another because it too is easy to play (rhythm) and the chord progression is sweet.

I currently have Garfunkel and Oates's "I Don't Know Who You Are" stuck in my head. Which is bad because it is not safe for work and I talk to myself all the time.
"Occam" is the name of the alien race that will enslave us all eventually. And they've got razors for hands. I don't know if that's true but it seems like the simplest answer."

The day the squirrel went berserk,
In the First South Baptist Church,
In the sleepy little town of Pascahula,
It was a fight for survival,
    That broke out in revival
    They were leaping pews,
    And shouting "Hallelujah"!

    There, I feel better now.

The instant I saw Cream, White Room pounced and is now stuck in my head. I do love that song, but I wish itīd let go.

That had to be quite a show.

We might want to discuss what solvents are best to unstick these songs. There are many. Most of the Beach Boys or Beatles, perhaps. Some Barry Manilow songs will work quickly, but use sparingly to avoid damage to the gray substrate.

I got the song "Space Dog" by Tori Amos stuck in my head today. As an added bonus, my brain offered up the name of the song and band as "Spacehog", so I couldn't find it. It took me a while to remember what it really was.

Were you thinking Harley is sending up a chopper to compete with Musk?
