    Hey guys, I'm back

I joined this forum 13 years ago, and now I'm almost double the age I was when I joined!

My last post was in 2011.

It's good to be back, this community had a profound impact on satisfying my scientific curiosity.

    How are you all?

    Do you remember me?

    What did I miss?

Welcome back! In the past thirteen years, my wife and I have had two additional children. I've gone from tech support to teacher with a couple of degrees. I wrote a book this year and started working with children with autism. Much more rewarding than tech support. You can't fix user errors, but you can make kids smile.

Edit - Still looking for book review?

    Welcome back.
I remember the name, but otherwise recollections are fuzzy.

I'm still with the boyfriend I was at the time, but we have two kids now. Simon is five and just got on his bus to kindergarten, and Irene is not-quite-two and soundly asleep with a bit of a cold.

Welcome back, Radiation Specialist. I took a bit of a break myself, though not quite as long as yours (I think it was around three years?).

What did you miss? Tim Thompson no longer posts here and neither does Neried. I am heading back to school bus driving and kids nowadays don't say boo on the bus, being all wrapped up in their iPhones. My son is now 46 and he is on the spectrum - makes great company and has full time and part time work. Grand nieces and nephews keep me busy along with my solar astronomy reach outs to my neighborhood - when weather clears up.

So what have you been doing?

Well--we've seen rockets reused and the outer solar system opened up a bit.

    Thanks for the welcomes everyone.

I want to say how much I appreciate being part of this community. I joined this forum as a teenager and looking back it helped form a large chunk of my intellectual and skeptical development. Growing up, there really weren't real life people around me with whom I could have these intelligent and curious discussions with. Today I have a thriving career in STEM and I like to think being part of this forum helped inspired me to pursue it.

So thank you all. Special thanks also go to the mods who do a fantastic job at keeping this place readable.
