    Death of André Previn at the age of 89

    A long career that started very young and continued until nearly the end. Perhaps he was under-appreciated because he stretched himself across so many musical areas. Nominated for three Academy Awards in one year - 1961, winning four Oscars, Chief Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra from 1968 to 1979, made two albums with Dinah shore etc etc.

    I always found him interesting when he was on screen and have certainly enjoyed the music he conducted or played.

    Even after all that, he will still be best remembered in the UK for the sketch he did with Morecambe and Wise!

    I noticed that the BBC obit. mentioned that as well. But he apparently took it all with good grace and there is a lovely little story about it it at the end of that obit. https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-47408185
