After two days over 40 C on the weekend the weather has changed dramatically. Today was 22 C with showers.

Some light snow right now and heavy rain tomorrow. I don't know if it is directly weather related but icy roads were probably a factor, there was a minor accident just down the road from here. Probably some who likes to get right behind someone and didn't have enough tome to slow hit a car and took off. The RCMP afterwards could be seen from our living room window.

Heavy rain expected overnite here too, the ground is frozen solid and some flooding is expected, hope it's not another record breaking year for precip again.

Not my weather luckily, but Adelaide the nearest other State Capital City to Perth has just recorded the hottest day ever of any Australian Capital City. It hit 46.6 C (116 F) today. Fortunately, "nearest" is still a fair distance (about 2,100 km away by air) so we are continuing to have unseasonably cool weather here - only 20 C.

Listening to the radio and school is cancelled again this week, it is exam week at the high school so they might be getting benefit out of this weather.

Yesterday had to deal with a frozen drain pipe, then thaw out the hoses to the sump pump and then the site goes down, just prime.
Sorry, got out of cold snap and then rain and now probably going to cold again that is why I had do the things above.

The polar vortex is headed our way, the estimates to how cold it might feel like vary but bad for the next couple of days. I just not looking forward to Saturday when I probably have to help unload a truck.

Super hot here. Big mass of warm air came off Australia and has had N.Z. sweltering for a few days. Record temperatures in places (32 degrees C, in general). Hard to sleep at night.
Today at work the team leaders came around handing out ice blocks. New building and the air con isn't keeping up. (Keeps going into fault mode, apparently.)
If we can get some decently insulated boxes, I'm happy to swap some warm air for cold, with a northern hemisphere member.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

It never reached 40F today as predicted, and we're getting about an inch of snow now that wasn't predicted. Still 60F predicted in 48 hours.

Waiting for the next batch of snow to freezing rain to rain.At least it is coming during daylight (for the snow) . Maybe the latter rain will melt some of the plowed snow/ice . It is the way of things
