It's really nice for about the fourth day in a row. If this keeps up I'll be switching to summer uniform (shorts and no socks) sooner than expected. Then again, we never had our usual February false spring this year, having snow instead. Perhaps we're having it in March.

We had the false spring earlier. Tonight , the weather guy said " 12 to 18" coming tuesday through Wednesday " . Must be Mother Nature's last insult before spring. I think I'll keep the plow on

Saw basically the same forecast coming our way, saw a couple blast of snow today but nothing really.

Sunny 5C, time to bring in some fire wood and get the fire started, while downloading some podcasts.

44 , skies grey, wind 8 kts. Gearing up for some spring-time pleasantries. About 15" I guess. This should be the lighter stuff, easier to plow.

    Yay!

Another continent wide weather front coming in tonight! Another nail in the drought coffin. Sorry Swift, I was just getting so tired of being lectured on water conservation by twenty year olds who thought the five year drought that just ended was something new and not my third major drought.

Sorry everybody down range of the Rockies who are tired of this. Your getting clobbered at least once more.

Our predicted light dusting of snow today is now looking like 4-5" of lard before it ends (they said all week it was a tough forecast). We may dodge power outages as the winds are light this time around. Dry and sunny for the remainder of the week.

Chilly, highs in the upper 40s and sunny but - holy cow, the wind! Steady at 15 mph and gusting to 30, and this will continue for a couple of days. Today was our neighborhood's scheduled trash pickup day. Oh brother...I think I collected trash in my yard from other communities!

Thirteen days into our official Autumn and we have had the hottest day for over 12 months. The maximum today was 38.5C (101F) with an overnight minimum of 26.2C (80F).

Certainly higher than normal at present but you do get the occasional bad day - luckily not all that often. It was only around 25% humidity at the peak of the heat and is getting more humid as it gets cooler - at 11 PM it was about 27C and 55% humidity.

Overcast and the snow is melting.
    ETA:
I gave in and took a nap. when I woke and went out to get the garbage can it looked like a plow hit it. Brought it in and squeezed and rotated it until it is almost a circle now a lot better than earlier. Still have bring in some wood but still plenty of daylight.

Winter temps holding on here with Spring less than a week away. Long range pattern seems to keep it holding on for a while longer.

    More rain today, I'm happy.

And at risk of incurring the wrath of the Mods, my Lord, the people who gave themselves emergency powers due to the drought are twisting themselves into knots trying not to give up said powers. Including an attempt to redefine "drought" which has a legal definition already and when that didn't work they unsuccessfully tried a fiat maneuver, (we say so!) because our droughts are cyclic. Five to seven years of rain followed by five to seven years of drought. I've lived here 58 years and was born in a wet cycle.

The only difference between now and when I was a child is the fact that now the winter wet season is broken in two parts, early winter and late winter/early spring instead of raining all winter.

Still too cold to start anything in the garden, but last autumn's spinach is doing well. Future looks cool/cold, rumblings of another Nor'easter in 4 days? I'll gladly take the sunny & cold.

No excuse not to paint today, other than my "tennis painting elbow" really hurts.

Overcast so not too hot, rain radar (I'm pretty much in the middle of this) ...
