Overcast and probably rain this evening a-into tomorrow, gotta put away the summer tires for the car, dump the water barrels and put them away and maybe bring in some more wood.

Snowed all morning, accumulating about 15 cm, and it just started again in the early afternoon. I've decided that this winter the driveway will only be cleared wide enough to accommodate one vehicle. But given its length, there's still room for two. If anyone complains, I'll hand them my shovel.

Really nasty windstorm yesterday. I'd whine about our power being out for seven hours, but at least one person has died, which puts it in perspective.

We got 3/4" of rain yesterday, but still about 2" short for the year average. Temps ranging from upper 30'sF to upper 50's F, typical.
I hope the long range forecast for a mild/dry winter here is correct.

It snowed last night and through the morning, which left a palpable layer of that white fluff which could be easily be blown away by a leaf-blower if one were so inclined. This evening, I walked around and while it may be freezing and there is a chill, the regular sort of planning that one days for the season was sufficient for me to at the very least walk above and across a freeway and through a school field to get supper.

In a bizarre side effect from the windstorm a few days ago, several families have had their homes flooded because the wind caused a tree to fall and breach a beaver dam. I'd guess none of those people guessed their homes were being protected from flooding by rodents.

    Apologies for the autoplay.

Red sky at morning, sailors take warning!

Which has caused me to think: Is it the other way around in the southern hemisphere?

No it is the same saying up here in Australia. And it is just as reliable as in your neck of the woods.

It was reliable enough here yesterday. Another nasty windstorm. Heavy rain is predicted for tomorrow, I'm going to town to stock up.

Cold and sunny here but the winds have subsided, raked some leaves today and working in the sun helps with the chill. It's even colder at nite, funny how that works.

Unseasonbly warm, windy, and damp. (Only the warm part is unseasonable.)
