Estimated 7.3 earthquake south of japan.

No news stories yet, but is on the usgs page (http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/).

It's listed at 7.0 on the USGS now.

There is no tsunami warning according to the USGS (http://wcatwc.arh.noaa.gov/2010/02/26/721628/01/message721628-01.htm) and NOAA (http://www.prh.noaa.gov/pr/ptwc/). And if there was a threat to Japan/Okinowa, it would have hit within about 10 minutes after the event.

It was in the MSNBC article, but I see the revisionists are changing the text.


Japan canceled all tsunami warnings about an hour after the temblor struck, and no major tsunami was recorded.
