Could be anything - to me it looks like the edge of a rippled rock [layer] that is covered by a softer sediment or sand that has eroded / is eroding away.

The ripples could be the result of the flow / solidation of lava, or of a muddy substance hardening (Since NASA itself theorises that the region might be the bottom of what once was a lake/ocean) .

But a worm? No...I'll start thinking about fossils if I see the same organic-appearing shape over and over again ;-)

Looks more like the Loch Ness monster. Proof that Nessie exists after all and it was a Martian!

Are the Rovers equipped with thumpers? I'd hate for one of the little guys to get swallowed.

You would suck at being hypnotized. You just don't respond well to the power of suggestion.

Why is it that every time a spirally looking tube casting shows up people immediately jump to the conclusion that it's "worm sign"? Prairie dogs have been known to dig spiral burrows too you know. [-X

But "prarie dog sign" doesn't sound as good...

Prarie dogs can be dangerous, though... (http://www.geekculture.com/geekycomics/Aftery2k/y2Karchives/195.html)

Because this (http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/b/c/bcorbett67/wormsign.jpg.html) sounds like more fun than prairie dogs.

Because this sounds like more fun than prairie dogs.

Ah! But what if they were big giant mutant prairie dogs?

P.S. In case anyone took me seriously, I don't really think that was a worm burrow. Hence the smiley.

Just in case anyone wonders, I was dead serious about the prairie dogs too.
