Apologies in advance if this question has been dealt with. I'm sure many others have considered the question: what is the maximum velocity we could achieve for a spacecraft using the gravitational slingshot effect around the planets and the Sun?

Also, given that the Sun is the body with the greatest gravity in the Solar System, I am assuming that in order to achieve a maximum, it would need to be used, and that the closer a spacecraft could fly towards the Sun, the greater the effect. The question assumes that any spacecraft used to achieve the maximum was sufficiently heat resistant to survive close approaches to the Sun.

Sorry, I can see this is being asked about in a quite recent thread. I tried to delete it, but obviously being an OP that option wasn't available. If moderators or admin can delete it, I have no objection, unless someone can see how it might be different from the other thread-question posed.
