New results, one from MINOS and the other from MiniBooNE, suggest that neutrinos may differ in mass from anti-neutrinos.

I find the hype extremely annoying ("It would not just demolish any particular model, it would require revision of the whole way we do particle physics."), but the results are still interesting. I will keep an eye on future developments to see if the sigma count waxes or wanes.

Yes, someone should write a book someday called "Two Sigma", which goes through history and looks at all the "two sigma" results that would have completely changed our paradigms had they been borne out-- but which vanished into the haze of experimental error upon closer scrutiny.

The grad students at one Lab Prominent in Our Field used to wear T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan "Veritas Duo Sigma". This naturally led to snide remarks from folks at other campuses...

Silly grad students. They should have had their T-shirts emblazoned with "με δύο σίγμα αλήθεια".
