The grand planet Jupiter with is well known storm (Grs) and the moon Io approaching the disc. Conditions were not ideal (Too much water vapor) but the best of the sets taken.

I thought I responded to this but don't see it. Trying again.

Nice series. Been a while since I've seen a naked red spot like this. Most theories are that the band is still there, just hidden by a higher cirrus layer. If so, the red spot must be even higher. Back in the 60's the spot was brick red. Much more a subdued orange today. It does change with time. Still, being naked of its cloud belt it sure is far easier to spot than it was when buried in the belt. Those with small scopes may be seeing it clearly for the first time.

Indeed... if I'm not mistaken, the GRS is much higher than the surrounding cloudtops.

Hi Andy and thanks.

Thanks Rick, And yes its below the surface you could see a hint of it in the green and blue channels. On my last image of jupiter in december 19th it was already fading and this is a normal cycle that the surface goes thru.
