Fraser. Shock waves are interesting, but I think the term super-volcano will mislead rookies into thinking M87 has the Paul Bunyon of volcanos. You'd be surprised to find how many teenagers think there is no size limit to people as a result of that fable. Olympus Mons is about as big as bulk modulus will allow. pete
