Recently I stumbled across a couple of great SF artists who make some quite beautiful work.

I haven't really been able to get into SF art from the Silver and Golden ages, aside from the quaint pseudo-nostalgia factor. It just looks cornball to me.

First up is Stephan Martiniere. I've seen some of his book cover illustrations in stores, but didn't look him up until recently.

Second, Keith Thompson. I first saw his art a few years ago in an art book, but didn't see who it was by. Had a real déjà vu moment when I stumbled across his website.

I really like Syd Mead's art. He did design work for "Alien", "Blade Runner", and "Tron".
