It seems that this forum doesn't support embedded latex. This surprised me as the text versions of the formula are impossible to read by comparison to the normal math versions. Other science forums I frequent have special tags like: [LATEX], [TEX] or [ITEX].

Are there any plans to support embedded latex and the [LATEX], [TEX] or [ITEX] tags?

I've seen some usage of external latex servers via the [IMG] tag, so that seems to be a common workaround here. Is this an approved method?

If not, what is the current recommended method for writing formulas here?
