View Full Version : Sky Charting Software

I am getting back into the hobby (for, I think, the third time) and was looking for some practical input on the various sky mapping software out there. Back in the day, I used earlier versions of SkyMap (although I never bought it), and have been using the current version and deciding whether I should pop for the registered version, but was wondering what input people have that have experience with the various programs available. Any input appreciated.

Look into Cartes du Ciel as well. It's free, it works quite well (although it doesn't have some features I would like to see included), and can be updated online. You can also use a wide variety of catalogs with it also.
