I love this this isle, i haven't actually been there but would love to go, they have no streetlights so it is pitch black at night.you can see the night sky in all its beauty. the stars shine brighter than you have ever seen them.

Not me. Closest for me was Normandy, many years ago. I'd love to visit the Channel Islands some day though.

cant wait till the summer, those nights are the best for stargazing. hopefully we will have many clear summer nights this year.

I just had to find this picture to share of an impossibly beautiful little island where you can 'stop the world and get off'.

I spent some months in the Isle of Mann back in the 1970's and remember the clear skies when we were away from Douglas.
I saw Andromeda... I can not do that from where I live now... but then I look straight up at the Southern cross.. I consider myself fortunate as in New Zealand you are never far from a dark clear sky...
I have no doubt that from The Isle of Sark the sky would be clear and dark...and as you are in England... Go there, Report please...

We used to visit Sark a lot. Yes it's certainly a beautiful place, and has little light pollution and, since it is a plateau, uninterrupted views from many spots.

Summer astronomy does have the problem of short nights, and Sark isn't exactly set up for winter visits (although it can be done).

Noooo Cold winter nights are are more interesting and clear.

Just make sure you have a hot water bottle (I'm clearly not hardcore ;) )
