Planetary orbits in other solar systems seem to be prone to influencing each other. What if two gas giants collided? How far could we see it if we were lucky enough to be looking that way?

i dont know if we could see the actual collision itself. I imagine any sort of light energy given off would be covered up by the star they orbit. we might be able to detect it by the change in the stars wobble in respect to those planets orbiting it. Just an amatures opinion here.
