I live in a remote place that is great for astronomy, but it forced me to reinvent the wheel, having no other astronomers in the area. The eyepieces I got with my lx200 were not too bad. Someone did me a favor and stole my eyepiece case, forcing me to buy some high quality eyepieces. The difference is incredible. The increased field of view and contrast make objects like the ring nebula and m42 just jump out at you. If you have an astronomy club nearby or you can get to a star party do it and check out eyepieces.
