MadMartian,

First, welcome to BAUT.

Second, I have changed your embedded videos to links. Though the software allows the videos, we do not, for several reasons (such as members' bandwidth issues). Third, we discourage links to videos without explanations - you need to tell the rest of us what this is about and why it is intriguing.

Lastly, it looks like you are advocating a non-mainstream idea - if so, you must follow our rules on such advocacy. I strongly recommend you read this (http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php/86593-Advice-for-Conspiracy-Theory-Supporters), and the link within it to our rules.

I struggle to see a face there even when the image is most highly distorted (presumably in the hope that the image artifacts will make it more "face like"). It is the least face-like face I have ever seen!

I thought the "happy face" at Crater Galle was the most intriguing face on Mars. :)

Is that really supposed to be a face?

The basic problem I have with the whole face on Mars thing is that the images show faces that are far too human. Even if you add the atmosphere and running water to Mars that might have led to a species evolving that could create giant monuments you can't change gravity or the amount of sunlight reaching Mars so the notion that such a species would bear any resemblance to us is beyond far fetched.

well, if that's a face they clearly don't look much like us.

And there is apparently another (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nereidum_Montes) one as well.
Another fun little confidence is the crater Hersche (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herschel_%28Mimantean_crater%29)l on Mimas, which was discovered after the first Star Wars movie.

Using the same flight of fancy as the "face" people who come here, I noticed that Olympus Mons looks suspiciously like a mole hill in my back yard. It's uncanny!! Obviously our moles are descendants of past visiting Martians. Watch for my upcoming book on the subject and appearances on C2C Radio.

I thought the face on Mars had something to do with the Dos Equis' "World's Most Interesting Man."

Yeah. That was worth the price of admission.

--- Intriging ! --- not even interesting... It is apparent to me that some people have too much spare time....

and not enough motivation to do anything with it remotely sensible.

...and let's have no more of that kind of rudeness.

Well I'm intrigued by what you find to be "most intriguing" about this feature. Not most human-like, I agree, but most intriguing. Please share your thoughts.

Oh my gosh, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Well; It should be, because the only thing in those videos is a couple of pictures, and no words.

And why the two videos? They are the same, except you get your choice of music genres.

With all the <insert word here> on the internet about pictures on Mars with even more conversation and explaination, what makes this any special?

Sorry, what am I looking at? I see images that could be seen to present a shape that varies and no more intriguing than looking at geological features on Earth.

and what is this modern obsession with using YouTube videos for still images? it doesn't make them any more "intriguing".

Au contraire, image compression and other artefacts do absolutely cater for much more "intriguing" images than high resolution originals do.
