Taken low in the twilight sky so not all that great. SN is marked in the southern part of the galaxy.

Beautiful. I have just been reading on universe today about the supernova that was seen for the first time yesterday. It did say that you would be able to see it with binoculars so im hoping for clear skies.

While I didn't do a photometric estimate a quick estimate puts its magnitude as about 13.25 in my image. It will need to brighten by a factor of about 6 times to reach binocular level. May happen but I'm not as optimistic as that article after seeing it slow its increase in last night's image. It was only about twice as bright as the night before so the curve is leveling off. They sometimes have a second brightening however due to decay of radioactive elements created in the initial blast. Keep trying. Just learning to find M101 is a good accomplishment.
