Hi everyone. It's my post here. I would like to show you my old M31 from 2009 or 2008 I don't really remember. Image taken by Canon 350 astro mod, Takahashi FSQ 106N fluorite, Takahashi em-200 in Poland.

(Mod note: Image over 360kb, click to view.)

Nice first image though it has quite a green cast. Usually due to light pollution. If you use Photoshop get the free Hasta La Vista Green plug in to remove it. The core is burned in by too harsh of a stretch. Use a gentle curve on the bright regions to prevent this. A fuzzy mask can help as well. I used a medium HLVG filter and corrected the mirrored image. Can't recover burned out core detail.

Thank you Rick. The same effect we can get after SCNR in PixInsight:

Core is burned indeed but today is already to late. I haven't RAW or TIFF files any longer. It's one of my first images in astrophotography - from 2-3 years ago. Today I know how to fight with burned cores in PixInsight :)

All the best
