Heard reports of huge fireballs coming down over some place in the UK whilst driving back from Work at Gatwick Airport at about 23:00.

Any reports, is it down Yet ?

I'm watching a news report about it now on television. It's expected some time tomorrow. As they read the report they're showing a picture of Arizona's meteor crater. That's a nice touch.

Just checked its periapsis by looking at its lowest altitude in its orbit. It was 173Km (Apollo orbits were 187Km), not much atmospheric drag at that height, when it gets below 110Km I might begin watching with interest.

Yep. It's down but NASA isn't precisely sure of the track.

NASA’s decommissioned Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite fell back to Earth between 11:23 p.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 23 and 1:09 a.m. EDT Sept. 24. The Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California said the satellite penetrated the atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean. The precise re-entry time and location are not yet known with certainty.

Might be a while, Chuck. The news was reporting (as of mid-afternoon, anyway, my knowledge might be stale by now) that NASA (or whoever) is pretty sure everything fell into the Pacific, far enough out that nobody seems to have witnessed it.
