No argument with the Language conclusion -- gravity waves probably travel at light speed, so there would be no advance warning. I can't calculate the likely strength of a gravitational wave, but for a gravity wave to be strong enough to destroy Earth, we're probably talking about very large supermassive black holes colliding.

If it's remotely correct, then there's absolutely nothing we can do, except get a good seat for the last minutes. Not to say it has any substance to it. It does seem that NASA scientists are always running around in terror in these articles.

Best bet is to go on with life.

Googled Alexey Demetriev and it seems he has some Woo Cred to his name already. He's apparently been crying "Doomsday!" for a while now.

I see this from the 16th of October and want for a explanation.. ( which I do not expect to get.)

The OP did not come back to comment again and this sort of repeating nonsense is tiresome..

So, If you are looking in, 'Cloudedmoon.' could we have more information or has it happened already.

From where does this 'Deadly Gravity Waves' cometh.. ? and When might I expect the sky to go black...?

I would also like to sound a fair warning...That site, ' beforeitsnews.com. '

is not held in high regard for science or information.. It seems to revel in rubbish.

This is the "Bad Astronomy Stories" section, and the O.P. did say he didn't believe it, so no need to be quite so cranky, astromark.

Looking on the bright side, our GW detectors might actually see something!

Yes, and he's been discussed on BAUT and parent site BABB repeatedly. Here's a thread from 2004:

http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php/10564-DR.-ALEXEY-N.-DMITRIEV*-%28who-is-this-person...%29?

and fairly recently, he came up in a discussion about the IBEX ribbon, which to him is evidence of doom. He also comes up in Planet X conspiracy and lots of other pseudoscience arguments. What you don't see is good peer-reviewed science from him.

LMAO well thanks for telling us I’ll sleep better now knowing the Earth only has days or year left because look at what we’ve done to it and how mean we are to family friends or neighbours we don’t deserve to exist. So will this happen this year or next year?

You joined in 2009 and you waited till now to tell us. Something tells me trolling. Its a bit early for April fools don’t you think.

Please see post #6, then take a deep breath, calm down, and please stop being needlessly rude.

Buzz-Lite-Punch,

Do not publicly accuse other members of being trolls; it is rude and against the rules.

Since this long dormant threads seems to be long abandoned by the OP, and seems to only be a magnet for rude comments, it is closed.
