View Full Version : Orion and Winter Milky Way

2012-Jan-29, 08:29 PM
I caught this shot of the winter Milky Way and Orion over Frosty Drew Observatory last night. It was an impulsive shot as I was packing up.

The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2244), M44, M46, M47, M48 and just barely the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex among others are visible in this shot.

Camera: Modified (CHDK) Canon S95, ISO 800, f/2, 15 minutes total exposure (14 images each at 64 sec). Camera was piggy back on Criterion 4000 SCT.
