View Full Version : Comet Linear C/2003 K4

So has anybody picked up this latest Linear comet? It's just a bit down and to the right of Arcturus in Bootes. I caught a glimpse of it between the clouds tonight. It's still magnitude 6.8, but I could definately make out a bit of a tail and a head. Nothing impressive, it's not supposed to even crack mag 5, but something to point your scopes at this week while waiting for the Perseids.

I saw it last month. Thanks for the link, I didn't realize it was supposed to get slightly brighter.

yeah. it's supposed to top out somewhere around mag 5.5, I think.

Yeah, I saw this yesterday. Will give us something nice to look at while we're freezing our posteriors off this winter.
