Has anyone heard of / seen the Australian-made movie "The Dish"? It's about the ground station in Australia that transmitted the tv viewing of Armstrong's first walking out on the moon. It also helped NASA in transmitting Apollo 11's radio signals on its way to the moon. (I'm a college student, so I haven't had time to read these boards enough to see if this has been mentioned.) My mom first saw this movie when she was on a work assignment in Australia for a few years, and we just rented it from Blockbuster, so I know it's over here now. If anyone has seen it, I'd like to know what other's takes on it are. If no one knows about it, I'd thought I'd mention it because you all might show an interest in it (especially TBA /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif ).

Great flick, it has been discussed here before. Not terribly accurate, but it catches a good feel of the situation. Somone found a web site with details of the technical flaws, but they are easy to ignore, so just sit back and enjoy. (I bought the DVD after renting it. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

It's in the HBO rotation right now.

I'd have to agree with Karl.
Great fun, its heart was in the right place and it was accurate enough.
enjoy!

Thanks for the feedback! Now I am wiser.

(Hmmm...I probably should have posted this under the movies section, shouldn't I have? Oh well, I'm new at this!)
