View Full Version : Have you seen the quadrupole images?

It appears that some of the CosmoQuest images depict star residuals that display a 'quadrupole style' of small white blobs hovering at the corners surrounding the messy star residual at the center.

At first glance, the quadrupole white blobs appear to be good candidates for transient notation. They appear completely white and appear to be the size we are looking for. But, after you've seen a number of images you begin to realize that the quadrupole white blobs are an artifact of the image subtraction process.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing.
