You can definitely say that again---in a recent publication by Cassata, Shuster, Renne and Weiss ---in the Journal Icarus the following article is in press:

"Trapped Ar isotopes in meteorite ALH 84001 indicate Mars did not have a thick ancient atmosphere"

It seems to indicate that Mars may not have been very wet nor (?) warm ---who really knows if life (?) had ever started on the surface . . . the plot definitely thickens since ALH 84001 was purported to contain fossilized nano-sized life-forms.
