View Full Version : Three Seas, One Solar System

I've been doing a bit of reading about the early solar system, and it appears to me that we might have had a period where the solar system had three planets with their own oceans .... It seems beyond belief, but I think I'm reading things correctly.

Earth had oceans by the beginning of the Archaen era, 3.8 Gya, Mars probably had its own Oceanus Borealis between 3.8 and 3.0 Gya, and Venus, pre-Greenhouse had its own oceans (probably), and two US researchers believe these seas may have survived for a billion years (up to 3.6Gy ago) from the formation of Venus.

Wow! :)
