One question;

Does anyone know anything about the discoveries of ice hunters, promised for this Christmas?

So far, there is 4 KBOs found by Ice Hunters and registered in the Minor Planet Center. The last one has been revealed in December :

2004 LV31 and 2004 LW31 (http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/mpec/K12/K12FA9.html)
2011 HM102 (http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/mpec/K12/K12T05.html)
2011 JX31 (http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/mpec/K12/K12X59.html)

Amazing animation in that note, thanks for the link!

I was trying to remember... I think what when that list was about to be send to the MPC, in the Ice Hunters era, I was sick and lost my opportunity to add my name :doh:

It is sad there is nothing closer than 0.2 AU.

They will all look like big blobs since LORRI can only resolve 150 km at this distance:(

NEO's can spoil the whole day...... really. Be careful what you wish for.

The final trajectory of NEW horizons is still not well known.
The presence of several moons makes possible the existence of dust and debris around Pluto, which can cause damage to the ship.
The ship should survive the passage through Pluto and the time required to download images and data, that is several months after
Scientists of mission are studying the problem, and surely used images taken by the spacecraft when East more near Pluto to choose a safe route.
Perhaps a stroke of good luck have chosen this route to minus than 0.2 au of any KBO.
or maybe should spend much fuel to escape the rubble and ship left with very little ability to maneuver,
either way
the last word not this bliss

Well the movie looks quite convincing to me. It matches the earlier info that none of KBOs discovered during the "icehunters" project lies within the window of accessibility of New Horizons. That was the reason why the "cosmoquest" project had been started. They wanted to look at later data hoping to see something.
