Apart from being round I don't see any resemblance. Surface features look quite different.

Indeed. In addition to Titan (http://www.nineplanets.org/titan.html) being nearly twice the diameter and Triton (http://www.nineplanets.org/triton.html) having a retrograde orbit and being volcanically active among other things...

you're pretty correct there Wolverine, but don't count the chickens before they hatch. Titan may have plenty pf secrets to be unfolded, recent images coming from radar data of the Cassini-Huygens craft have shown that Titan may have volcanic activity. The radar team caught what appeared to be a bright flowing feature that is consistent with an active geology feature, I have been reading words like 'cryovolcanic' flow or 'ice volcano' you might want to look it up a bit more and check recent news releases by NASA or ESA because I think this could be very important geological activity or it might be just something not correctly explained.

Triton and Titan are only moons in the Solar System which have visible atmospheres.

Thanks, you're absolutely right -- I thought I'd heard/read recently that Titan wasn't as likely a candidate in terms of cryovolcanism, but after reviewing several recent press releases it seems apparent that I had a wire crossed. #-o

Definitely looking forward to seeing more data, regardless.

I thought there was a similarity in the images...compare them
