I suppose this might split off into a new post but http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?release=2014-127 indicates a new brown dwarf (rogue giant planet) "close" to the solar system.

It is getting to the point that I'd like to know more contextual relationships of such things. Is it moving toward or away(was closer in the past or will be in the future, ala http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1999AJ....117.1042G) and how close/far/moving with respect to regional stars, and the Local Cloud - (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Interstellar_Cloud)… in otherwords the information available for the neighborhood is getting complex enough that perhaps we need more than just isolated bits of information.

Like the A/B/P Centauri System - does Proxima disrupt it's Oort cloud and thus has scattered those comets out? Lots of room for questions and exploring.
