One major challenge of maned space flight is providing food for the astronauts. For the ISS all food is supplied from earth. That is about to change with an experiment to grow salad in the ISS. There is also many other examples of experiments to grow food on simulated environments representing the moon and Mars. My hope this thread can be used to post information on the ongoing research and put our views in this growing area. Let me start with a short video of the experiment that is now taking place in the ISS.
