This was said to be one of the largest non-volcanic earthslips. and certainly the bigest caused by human activity, ever in North America!
Just last year 70 million m^3 of debris fell into the mine.

No one was hurt, because the pre-slip warnings signs had been noted.

Strange to find that despite the warnings, no one took any video of it happening, except for a few stills by a local resident, but there is a time-lapse video of the mine workers digging out the access road again. It took over three weeks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu5c5TCEoVM

All of the area around the mine is privately controlled. There may be video, which was not released because the mine owners don't want it to show up in court.

They were wise enough and well organised enough to stop work and protect their workers. What have they to fear from a court?
