a friend of mine forwarded me the following link: ancient computer (http://www.giant.net.au/users/rupert/kythera/kythera3.htm), about some corroded materials found in or near a shi[pwreck, which allegedly points to the fact that the 'ancient Greeks' (whoever that may be) used computers a long time ago already.

at first glance the 'machine' looks to consist of sextant-like parts and i recall briefly seeing/reading something quite a while ago that debunked this 'theory'.

does anyone know where to find this?

We talked about it here (http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=13903&start=0&postdays=0&postorder =asc&highlight=antikyth%2A).

There may be some info there.
