View Full Version : Bright, pinpoint stars after cataract surgery

Tonight I got my first really good look with my rebuilt right eye fully corrected with new glasses. The stars popped into view as sharp points, and I could see the Y pattern of Virgo and the Three Leaps of the Gazelle easily, despite the severe light pollution. I had not seen them that well for a long time. Before the surgery I had a hard time seeing much more than Arcturus and Spica. When I covered my right eye, the view with the left eye was really blurry by comparison, despite the best possible correction with the left lens of my glasses. The right eye checks out at 20/15 as corrected. I give my ophthalmic surgeon a hearty thumbs up for a job well done.

Congratulations, Hornblower! I went through the same sensation when I had my eyes corrected. It really does make a world of difference!
