I first saw this article on Science News (https://www.sciencenews.org/blog/wild-things/camera-traps-provide-treasure-trove-african-animal-pics)

Rarely is a data dump this adorable.

The researchers behind Snapshot Serengeti, a project that placed hundreds of camera traps across Serengeti National Park in Tanzania from 2010 to 2013, have released their dataset to the public in the hopes that the imagery will be used by others for research and educational purposes.
There are some cool photos in the article; a lot of them are animals looking at the cameras, trying to figure out what they are.

Here is the website for the group (http://www.snapshotserengeti.org/#/home)

Apparently it is also a citizen science project (I think to ID animals) that is part of the Zooniverse

I did some identifications back in the fall. Pretty exciting to think that even clicking through photos with no animals in them, I was watching the wind blow and the clouds move on another continent.
