After the first 3 episodes, I've decided that I just cannot watch this new series - and I feel that way completely independent of the quality of the old series. It is just not doing it for me. JMO

You just probably have a thing for Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch.

I'm impressed with the new one so far, though the insistence on hand-held cameras throughout is starting to give me a headache and is keeping my wife from watching it at all.

was it bad science in episode 3 (I think) to suggest that water is a very scarce resource in space?

You may need a third option as a choice. I did not care at all for the original version and I don't think the new one "kicks butt". The new one is interesting at times but occassionally I have a tendency to doze off while watching it.

Or perhaps a 4th. :) I'm not "in love" with the original, but It did have a certain "charm" that the new show totally lacks.

I went with a 3 strikes rule. After the 3rd episode they haven't hooked me or inspired me in any way. I'm going back to Friday night stand-up on Comedy Central.

New one, absolutely. The old show was incredibly stupid, and the new one has had some interesting stories. I really liked "33."

Yes, and in the next show it seems they couldn't handle salt in their water - even though they had near perfect water recycling equipment. Ah, well. Still better than going from star to star (or is that "galaxy to galaxy"?) quickly without an FTL drive.

There should be an additional option in the poll for the series of BSG set on earth. Then again, do I really think that anyone would vote for it. ;)

As an aside, for some reason the auto ad system has decided that viewers of this thread would like to take a course at Knightsbridge University. :o
