The IAU seems to have kept the opening ceremony, and the closing ceremony, but the lunchtime session, the one where the actual debate took place, is gone. I've only been able to locate snatches of it in secondary sources. It's a shame because it was not only an important historical document but also a fascinating watch.

It's hard to know exactly what you're looking for. Lunchtime? Wasn't the convention over 10 days -- so lunch on which day?

Where have you looked? What did you look for?

This Pluto fan seems to have a several Pluto-related videos, including her opinion's the one single one to consume: http://laurelsplutoblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/see-for-yourself-videos-and-transcripts.html

But they all point into the iau.org site, so if you say the iau.org site removed the one you think is vital, then it's not on that page.

Do you have a link to the one that is now missing? Check the Internet Archive (https://archive.org/web/)? Earliest, April 2014 seems a subset of what iau.org offers now: https://web.archive.org/web/20140429094727/http://www.iau.org/public/videos/. Did it go missing earlier than that?

Search YouTube?

Edit: Oh, see the date in the title. Who reads titles? 2006 August 22. I'll look later when I have more time.

Very nice site! You're not the binary guy I thought you were. :)

Thanks for posting the statements made during the debate during the voting session. I can only assume that had they had enough foresight of what was to come, we would have seen something far more professional. [Why does LaLa Land come to mind suddenly and on multiple levels? ;)]
