They go on about $1 at 5% interest for 500 years. They do, however, forget to include that nasty little thing called inflation.

Using their calculator with $1 at 5% for 500 years you get:
$39,323,261,827.22

However, kick it down to 2% (figuring 3% inflation per year) and you only get:
$19,956.57 - that will probably buy a loaf of bread in 2505.

Man, what a scam! And if they don't bring me to the future do I get my money back? P. T. Barnum Lives!

I think the definitive comment on time travel can be found in Napoleon Dynamite. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet. Quite an enjoyable film.

If you're not taken to the future and get a refund then you can no longer be sure it's a scam. After all, since your money was refunded instead of being invested you can no longer expect a trip to the future, so the offer might be legitmate. The only way you can be sure it's a scam is if you agree in advance that you'll never ask for a refund, and if you do that then you don't get your money back.

How would you know that it's not a scam? Maybe you're just forced to get old and die, then have causality horribly violated long after you're good and dead ?

Wow. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but um...you didn't have to travel back in time for that. You could've just used the search function :-?

I have dialup Internet access. Searching would have taken too long.

And when you eventually die in the future, do they return your body to the point when you would have died in the present :-?

There is an other way to travel into the future, sort of.

Just take a trip in a fast plane, and by the time dialation effect you kind of travel a fraction of a second into the future. :D

If you don't care how big that fraction of a second is then you can walk across the room instead. The fraction of a second will be a lot smaller but also a lot cheaper.
