The big fuzzy pattern is an out-of-focus image of the telescope pupil (which can show up in any Cassegrain-type system when there is enough extraneous light bounding around). Something similar bedeviled many of the exposures for the Hubble Deep Field observations (and for that matter, some images of Abell 2125 that we just published...). I'd bet Saturn is in the magic cone around the pointing position for scattered light to get around the baffles and cause confusion; in fact, this is the kind of observation one might do precisely to document that scattered light for correction of other data.
