View Full Version : Bad Science on the History Channel (again)

This one was a documentary on Yuri Gagarin's historic flight and the Soviet space program leading up to it. I hadn't seen it before. I only 'caught' the last 20 minutes. The reinactments were quite well done, and I did learn a few details of the flight and surrounding events that I didn't know.

However....

I cringed when the narrator spoke of Gagarin in orbit in his Vostok spacecraft... "free from the Earth's gravity"... Arrrgh ](*,)

Yes, but viewers who didn't still don't, and the myths perpetuate.

Which would be ok for a sitcom, but it's sloppy for an educational program.
