We know there is a lot of hydrogen gas out there--but it may be that most of the missing (ordinary) mass of the universe may wind up being hot oxygen

I wonder if an interstellar ramjet--if accelerated, might actually be more conventional--maybe a true--- ramjet after all?
Using both diffuse oxygen and hydrogen gas...

Or an ever better "brake" allowing hydrolox refueling?

Any fate of the universe is scary. Big rip most of all. Loneliness, deprivation, then we rip apart.
