I am trying very hard to recollect the name of the novel I read about 15 years ago. I can't recollect the author nor the title of this novel.

I have tried the public library and there are too many books and authors to go through. The information desk was of not much help and I don't blame them.

I am sure I can get some help on this board if I provide the stolyline to you which goes as follows:

A UFO lands (or crash lands, I am not sure) somewhere in Europe and there is a bus load of tourists who witness this event. Our hero (the detective character created by the author) is sent to investigate. What he finds though, is a conspiracy to cover up this event is beginning to unfold and the witnesses are eliminated one by one. These "cover up agents" always manage to stay one step ahead of our hero...... so on and so forth.... eventually our hero begins to discover that he is a target himself and manages to escape and all that good stuff.

Now, can anybody help me identifying this novel and the author please.

Thanks.

Yup, that was it, Archer17. Thanks very much.

I was trying authors like Michael Crichton, Jeffrey Archer and Robert Ludlum. Sidney Sheldon never occurred to me at all.

You are good!

I read the book myself and can see why you didn't think of Sheldon. It did have a Crichton/Ludlum flavor to it.

Glad to help. 8)
