Cool, caught footage of all the surfers riding the board on the news or something. Hadn't heard about Mavericks though, thanks for the link. I keep forgetting that OLN carries surfing events (ASP Tour) #-o I guess Mavericks and the Eddie are the two class big wave events, before getting into the real big waves where a tow-in is req'd.

"Condition Black (http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/conditionblack/)" on PBS' Nature sometime ago dealt with the 1998 Eddie and an interview with the person who first rode an 85 foot wave. :o LOL, I have the book and "campy" movie "Big Wednesday" somewhere (late 70's coming of age/surfing flick starring Jan-Michael Vincent, Gary Busey and William Katt). The surfing footage though is really quite good.

Can you ride this though? (http://www.severn-bore.co.uk/photos.htm) Not the highest wave but it can be one of the longest.

"Eddie Would Go" bumper-stickers/decals are a popular item in surf shops---quite a three-word philosophy :D
