Hollywood has recently prepd us with enough Sun movies eg "Solar Crisis", "Sunshine", "The Humanity Bureau", "The Core", "The Day After Tomorrow", "One Under the Sun" etc etc; reality is stranger than (science) fiction.

No, it probably isn’t. Fiction is in most cases stranger than reality, despite what people say.

Look at Harry Potter. At King’s Cross station, you won’t find a platform 9 3/4, except in the movie.

I don't know what your point is, but unless it has something to do with the specific shutdown of this observatory, knock it off.

If you wish to discuss Hollywood, solar observations, or whatever, create you own thread in Astronomy, Small Media at Large, or ATM, as appropriate.
