One of my good friends, Llewellyn Falco, likes to say we need to enhance the good. He usually means this in the context of software development: focus on doing those things that will make your code better while leaving behind things that don't.

So far, 2021 has been about a decade long. As we go into Monday, I feel like the day will be another three years long. While we could all very easily sink into doom scrolling, there are some bits of potential science we can escape into.

Here are the things I'm going to be focusing on this week:
1) The American Astronomical Society (https://aas.org/) will be holding their winter meeting all this week. There will be two press conferences a day, at 12:15pm and 4:30pm Eastern (GMT-5). As we're able, we'll host watch parties.

2) SpaceX (https://www.spacex.com/) is going to try to fly a granary StarShip again. There is a chance this will happen as early as Monday, and we will also bring this to you as we are able (this could mean picture-in-picture with a press conference).

3) Starting February 1, we're going to be re-launching Gillian Rhodes' amazing interviews (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLo1j35Qh8M1xvdrYwSk-iEWOZG_NdQPKV) on Art + Science as a stand-alone show. We still don't know what to call it, and we'd love your ideas.

For now, this is what I'm looking forward to. Join me and escape into astronomy.
In love and science,
